For those of you that don't know...I have been trying to go through all of the steps to get hand controls installed on our SUV. On the 13 March I received the approval to install the hand controls. After that, we had to get my doctor to fill out some paperwork and that resulted in my new updated licence that says I can only drive with hand controls. I got the new licence a couple of weeks ago. We took our car to Dallas Spears Metal Works here in Alice Springs on Wednesday night and we got it back on Saturday the 12 with the hand controls installed. Finally on the 14Th I had to get the controls approved by a TAC inspector and after that we went to the Motor Vehicle Registry for their final inspection and to update the registration. Well, after all of that...I now have the ability to drive!!!

Way to go!! That is SO AWESOME! I am so happy for you! I can't imagine the patience required for that to get "approved". I am so glad that you have some independence back and will be praying for even more to be given to you!
I can't imagine learning to drive on the other side of the car (and street) in addition to learning to drive with hand controls! You are amazing!!
